Essence of Color
This is a series of paintings, each one depicting the individual colors of our spectrum. I have tried to capture the essence of the color as it resonates to me, but also its meaning and purpose in relation to each of the chakras. Color is extremely powerful, emotively and symbolically, and in each of these paintings I attempt to connect to the unique energy, voice and vibration of each color, thereby conveying its own power and message to the viewer.
Each painting incorporates a combination of paper, fabric, glitter, stones, beads, flowers and feathers, further illustrating and uncovering the subtle hues and tones within each color. The butterfly symbolizes transformation for me, my own transformation.......it is my totem. Sometimes I use it at the chakra point and at other times I use it where I feel it should be. At the bottom of each painting is the gemstone or crystal associated with that particular chakra and color energy. I have placed this gemstone next to my signature and hope that this small gesture completes the story of each color and its healing messages.
